A PHILOSOPHY OF FAMILY

We are a father-son, multi-generational firm. Edward J. Zeches, Jr., CPA, Managing Partner, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and Christopher P. Zeches, Managing Partner, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ® professional.

For us, a long-term approach does not mean 10 or 20 years; it means a lifetime. We have one priority: taking care of multi-generational families and business owners by helping them work toward their goals and objectives. For some families this may mean funding an education or being able to retire. For others, it may be preserving capital and maintaining a standard of living for one generation while ensuring there’s growth in the portfolio for future generations. For business owners it may mean selling their business or transferring it to the next generation.

Our firm acts as your family’s Chief Financial Officer leveraging extensive tax and investment expertise to meet client needs. With our accounting background and attention to detail, combined with in-depth financial planning knowledge, we are able to exceed the expectations of their clients.

Our philosophy is simple. We all want the best for our families and business owners, and our mission is to help our clients achieve that.

WHAT MADE US WHO WE ARE TODAY

THE BEST ASSETS – A GOOD NAME AND YOUR WORD

Ed was raised by his grandparents, who were in their seventies when he was born. His grandparents lived through the Great Depression and taught Ed to work hard and save for the future. Ed was an entrepreneur from an early age. From numerous paper routes to running a lawn service to keeping bees, Ed was always looking for ways to add value to people’s lives while also making money for his family.

Ed’s grandfather taught him many things; the most important one being that all an individual has is his name and his word. Ed’s grandfather taught him that your word matters; a handshake is a bond, and your reputation stays with you for generations, so you better make it a good one. Ed chose to change his name to “Zeches” to honor his grandfather and to carry on the good name and reputation his grandfather had worked for his entire life. Ed is reminded of all his grandfather’s teachings anytime he sees or says his last name.

MONEY DOESN’T MATTER. PEOPLE DO.

“Money doesn’t motivate me, Helping others is why I love what I do.” Ed Zeches

OVERCOMING ADVERSITY TO ACHIEVE HIS GOAL

From an early age, Chris was determined to swim at the University of Notre Dame, and at 10, he was a top-ranked swimmer. When he turned 11, Chris was attacked by a debilitating illness which caused constant migraines and his brain to swell. The family frantically tried to determine the source of his illness. Once the cause was identified, it took five long years for Chris to regain his health and the ability to swim at the highest levels. Chris never gave up.

During those years of recuperating, Chris spent time at his father’s office and found his passion for investing by learning about the financial markets. Ed believed the best way to learn was through actual investing and gave Chris $25,000 in real money to invest. This money was Chris’ to keep and invest; however. he needed to research and make all investment decisions. This experience was not only an invaluable experience, but one Chris is able to reflect on to this day. Chris was so successful that some years later, he had the down payment he needed to purchase his first house.

After years of hard work, Chris was finally back in the pool and competing; in fact, he earned a scholarship to swim at the University of Notre Dame. While at Notre Dame, Chris was an integral member of the swim team and earned his Bachelor’s of Business Administration majoring in accounting.
